Prince Jim Shepherd Nadiope Foundation is the Uganda’s premier non-profit organization supporting mental health awareness and education especially among the young adults. We are building a world that enables good mental health for all by working with trusted partners to raise awareness, reduce stigma and increase support for mental health in Uganda. We are dedicated to saving lives and to building stronger families and communities. Through education, research, advocacy, and a focus on young adults ages 14–35, Prince Jim Shepherd Nadiope Foundation is opening up the conversation about mental health and creating lasting change in the way mental health is talked about, cared for, and valued in Uganda.

Who We Are
Changing the Conversation About Mental Health
Why Us
Cultivating A Culture Of Inclusive Mental Health And Well Being
No one is immune to struggling with their mental health, and members of underrepresented groups experience mental health concerns more often while also experiencing more hurdles to accessing quality professional care than others.
Prince Jim Shepherd Nadiope Foundation is founded on the fundamental human rights principle that all persons should have access to health services without discrimination. The adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its pledge to “leave no one behind”, based on the normative framework of international human rights law, has reinforced the need to creating a more comprehensive and inclusive approach to mental health and well-being. We emphasize the need to address the broad health and wellbeing issues and needs of all people and ensuring that mental health services are easy to access and affordable for everyone. We believe that equity and social justice are paramount to our work and we use that lens as we look to make change in our world.
We work with a diverse team of ardent and compassionate professionals team comprising psychiatrists, Psychologists, Social workers, clinicians, Mental Health Nurses, counselors, Varied Therapists, Spiritual leaders, recovery coaches, Addiction counselors, and other expert practitioners to manage a broad range of Mental Health issues, opening the door to holistic recovery.
After my son’s death and knowing how preventable it was, I resolved — no matter what — to do something to change the way we approach mental health in Uganda. (Prince James Nadiope – Founder and Executive Director, Prince Jim Shepherd Nadiope Foundation)
